ErgoPack

Improve worker safety and efficiency with ErgoPack

ErgoPack is the simpler, safer way to apply strapping to pallets. This easy-to-use and portable machine dispenses, tensions and welds strapping around pallet loads.

  • Ergonomic
  • Efficient
  • Easy

By feeding strapping around a pack or pallet and tensioning it in place, ErgoPack improves worker safety, increases process efficiency, and ensures pallet stability.

As its name suggests, the device is designed with ergonomics in mind, focussed on improving worker health and safety while also supporting pallet stability and operational efficiency.

How it works

ErgoPack is simple, efficient and effective – as this short demonstration video shows.

  • Easy, user-friendly touch screen controls
  • Semi-automatic dispensing for strapping
  • Fully integrated sealing head for welding
  • Adjustable to suit different pallet heights and widths
  • Compatible with plastic strapping (PP or PET)

Operators simply place the machine in front of a pallet load, select the right programme according to the pallet size and load strength required, then press go. The device’s ChainLance will first feed strap below the load, through the pallet and back up and over the load, bringing it back to the hand of the operator. As the ChainLance retracts, the Strap Lifter raises the strap end up to the Sealing Head, for the strapping to be tensioned and both ends to be welded securely together.

Benefits of ErgoPack for strapping pallets

Improves worker safety – ErgoPack removes the need for workers to continuously bend down and move around a pallet in order to apply strapping; reducing the risk of strain or injury, and improving workplace health and safety.

Increases throughput & efficiency – The device reduces the amount of time required to apply strapping; increasing throughput and operational efficiencies.

Ensures pallet stability – ErgoPack correctly tensions and welds strap in place, ensuring pallet loads are stable and secure; supporting reliable and compliant pallet stability.

Intuitive, flexible & portable – The device features user-friendly touchscreen controls, is adjustable for a range of different sized loads, and can be manoeuvred around large loads or facilities.

The importance of worker safety

The risk is real – continuously bending down and moving around pallet loads to apply strapping can put serious strain on workers, risking injury.

Every year, more than 6 million working days are lost in the UK due to work-related ill health and musculoskeletal disorders, according to the HSE. And findings from the manufacturers behind the ErgoPack device suggest that individual businesses can lose up to five days per employee per year due to back pain alone.

ErgoPack reduces this risk significantly by removing the need for workers to bend down and move around pallet loads.

It also features comfortable handles to limit effort required from operators, and, by efficiently dispensing strapping, removes the chance of strap being left trailing around a pallet, risking trip hazards.

Safer workers are healthier, happier and more motivated.

Improve safety & Increase efficiency – in numbers:

For a business requiring 50 strapping cycles per day, ErgoPack removes the need for 25,000 bend downs and 12,500 walks arounds every year. And with a typical strapping cycle taking just 40 seconds, compared to around two minutes for manual strapping, ErgoPack cuts the time needed to strap a pallet by, on average, 67%.
